About Jim Hargan

Jim Hargan, an experienced traveler who holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in geography, is a freelance photographer and writer specializing in content that celebrates the uniqueness and beauty of individual places. He has lived in Coos Bay, Oregon, as well as Florida (through 1994) and the Southern Appalachians (1994—2014).

As a long-time professional with more than twenty years in the business, Jim strives to provide products that merge seamlessly into a publisher's business practices. His knowledge and expertise with computer databases enables him to customize his text to your publication's needs. Jim's Past & Present Publishing Projects

Jim Hargan has been providing high-quality photography and photo/text packages to the travel publishing industry since 1994.

Jim was the sole photographer for Fodor's/Random House's Compass American Guide to North Carolina, which went through five editions from 1998 to 2009.

He is both writer and photographer for a travel guide to The Blue Ridge & Smoky Mountains for W.W. Norton's Countryman Press imprint (now in its fourth edition since 2002), and has produced a companion volume, a guide to the Shenandoah Valley and the Mountains of the Virginias, published in 2005. In 2011 he completed a third guide for Countryman Press, on the state of North Carolina.

Jim is a regular contributor to British Heritage magazine, to date having provided eighty photo/text packages of historic travel in Great Britain.

About Kasey Hargan — Agent, Manager, and Novelist

Kasey Hargan is Jim's agent and special projects manager. With many years experience in media and marketing, she will work with you to find the perfect stock image, arrange an assignment shoot or assist you with a customized photo/text package.

Kasey's novels take a human and humorous look at life, with strong characters you will recognize from daily life. Her latest novel is Chris-Anthem.
