Cape Blanco and Port Orford

This twenty mile stretch of coast offers cliffs alternating with beaches; in some places cliffs loom over beaches, while in others sand dunes roll against cliffs. Highlights are cliff-bound Cape Blanco with its lighthouse and frequent fogs, and the cliff-bound harbor at Port Orford. There are a lot of cliffs here.

 

Flora Lake State Park

At the northern end of this stretch a long line of dunes block the flow of fresh water and form Flora Lake. A boat ramp at its northern end is its only access, and the only way of reaching the beach.
